Art is About Giving

Vickie's Creative Journey

Vickie Beaver is a self-taught artist and CEO of a long-term care company. She started painting after high school and studied the works of the old masters. She began teaching art at Randolph Community college before the opportunity of teaching art to the local nursing homes was suggested by her Dean.

Uncertain at first, she eventually took him up on his offer. She will never forget her first day meeting the residents and the joy on their faces as they began to create. When a resident told her she hopes she comes back again, Vickie knew that this was her path.

Since teaching at nursing homes, her love for geriatrics began to take form. For three years after her first brush with art teaching in the nursing homes, she would receive a job offer that would bring her ever-closer to the residents she loved.

When Vickie is not running a successful long-term care business, you can find her in her studio throwing clay or adding brush strokes to her next masterpiece. Art to her is peace and happiness, and her ultimate goal is to take a blank canvas and transform it into a work of art that brings a smile to the viewer’s face.

When Vickie lost her father, a fervent supporter of her art, she spearheaded The Clarence Loflin Charitable Fund, which supports children in her home county. Many of her initiatives have included donating to Project Santa, the Back-Pack Program, The Children’s Burn Unit at Baptist, and a college scholarship yearly to a deserving senior at South Davidson High School. As Vickie’s way of giving back to the community that supported and raised her, all the profits from her artwork is sent to this fund.

Vickie is a passionate artist who wishes to inspire others to live to their full potential. The ability to bring joy to others through her work—that is why Vickie creates.
